The Origenian Monastery (Schola Origenis) is a contemplative spiritual fellowship of the Ancient Apostolic Primitive Catholic Church dedicated to prayer, sacred liturgy, theological study, and union with God. Inspired by the primitive Church, Origen of Alexandria, and the Desert Fathers, we welcome clergy, oblates, and faithful seekers who desire to deepen their faith through the Divine Office, Holy Eucharist, contemplative silence, and disciplined Christian living. The Origenian Monastery sanctifies the day through the Divine Office, praying the Hours of Matins, Lauds, Prime, Terce, Sext, None, Vespers, and Compline. Rooted in the primitive Church, this rhythm of psalmody, Scripture, and silence draws the soul into continual communion with God.

The Holy Eucharist is the heart of our spiritual life. In this sacred Mystery, we receive the Body and Blood of Christ, are united with His divine life, and are strengthened by grace. Rooted in Apostolic tradition, the Eucharist nourishes the soul and draws us into deeper communion with God.

From the earliest days of the Church, the sanctification of time has stood among the most beautiful and transformative expressions of Christian devotion. The Apostles, and those who followed after them, ordered their lives according to appointed hours of prayer, lifting their hearts to God at dawn, at midday, at evening, and in the watches of the night. In this sacred rhythm, the believer learns to dwell continually in the presence of God, and the ordinary movements of life are transfigured into an unceasing offering of praise.
The Psalms, inspired by the Holy Spirit and prayed by our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, have always formed the heart of the Church’s prayer. Through them, the faithful enter into the full range of the spiritual life: adoration, repentance, supplication, thanksgiving, and mystical union. To pray the Divine Office is to allow one’s soul to be shaped by the language of Scripture and to be gradually conformed to the mind of Christ.
This Breviary draws deeply from the wells of the ancient Church, particularly the traditions preserved in the Apostolic age and the first centuries of Christianity. It seeks to unite fidelity to Holy Scripture, reverence for Sacred Tradition, and the contemplative insights of the great Fathers—especially Origen of Alexandria, whose passion for the Logos and the ascent of the soul to God continues to inspire seekers of divine wisdom.
